Committee member David Donohue has been appointed Deputy Chair, while three new committee members are Mayor of Carpentaria Shire Council Jack Bawden, Burdekin councillor John Woods and General Manager at SeaLink Queensland Chris Briggs.
Cr Bawden has extensive experience in both local government and small business.
“RDA provides an opportunity to further enhance the prosperity and viability of the communities in the Gulf Region,” Cr Bawden said.
Councillor John Woods also has a broad range of experience with 18 years in local government and 15 years running his own farming business while Mr Briggs has years of experience in management teams.
Mr Donohue will become Acting Chair, after Chair Frank Beveridge stood down last week for the period he will be running as an LNP candidate for Kennedy in the next federal election.
