Race secretary Jane McNamara said it was the 120th meet at the track between Hughenden and Winton with 54 acceptances for the five-race card.
In Race 1 the Tropic Distributors / Brennans Cattle TPT / Abbott Memorial Class 4 Handicap over 1000m there was a win for Mackay jockey Matthew Hart who rode trainer Ken Laffin’s Zou Der Zee to victory.
The $1.80 favourite finished one and a quarter lengths clear of Fine Fergus with Senseofwonder finishing third.
Mount Isa jockey Keith Ballard had a win in Race 2 the MD Hunter Earthmoving / Suncity Yamaha / GR Terry Memorial QTIS Maiden Plate over 1000m.
Ballard rode Tanya Perry’s Kawana Viva to victory by one and a half lengths over My Mind is Madeup and Cool Chaos.
Race 3 was the Northern Rural Group Ladies Bracelet Class B Handicap over 800m and there was another victory for the North West with trainer Kerry Krogh getting the quinella. Tim Brummell rode Krogh’s Hunting to victory ahead of Palm Springs by a nose.
Jackoh finished third.

In Race 4 the Volvo Commercial Vehicles BenchMark 50 Handicap over 1200m, the Parry-Ballard combination worked a treat again though this time it was son Dan in the saddle not dad Keith.
Dan Ballard rode Craiglea Odyssey to victory by two lengths from Born to Fire and Going Grey.
The last race of the day was the Campbell’s Grazing Co / Hughenden Spar Stamford Cup Open handicap over 1200m.
The race was taken out by Bush Caviar which was narrowly beaten in the recent Battle of the Bush final at Doomben.
This time there was no denying the Henry Foster-trained horse ridden by Jason Babarovich.
It won by four lengths from Rebel Rover while Bob Burow’s Anchor Chain finished third.
This weekend’s meet is the rescheduled race at McKinlay.
The date was donated by Mount Isa Race Club after McKinlay’s original June date was cancelled due to a water-logged course.
