Nominations for the 2018 Northern Outback Business Awards are set to open on Monday July 16.
Celebrating Northern Outback businesses, recognising excellence in service, outstanding contributions to the growth of our economy and showcasing innovation and progression in business, the Business Awards hosted by Commerce North West with support from the Department of State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning annually attract hundreds of nominations.
To be staged in Mount Isa on the evening of Saturday November 3 businesses from the local Government areas of Boulia, Burke, Carpentaria, Cloncurry, Croydon, Doomadgee, Etheridge, Flinders, McKinlay, Mornington, Mount Isa and Richmond will be eligible to apply.
To be available via a simple online process Event Manager Katie Schrodter said nominations would be open longer in 2018 to encourage increased submissions.
“Due to popular demand we are opening the online nomination portal nearly six weeks earlier than past years” Ms Schrodter said.
“Many people stated that they received excellent customer service throughout the year but often forgot an employees name or alike by the time the nomination portal opened, so this will allow them to nominate months in advance.
“From a business perspective, if they self-nominate or are nominated by a member of the public category questions will be received within a couple of days allowing increased time to prepare their submission (not due until mid-October).”
With 28 award categories ranging from Customer Service Heroes to Emerging Business, Business Growth to Workplace of Choice it is hoped 2018 will be a record year for nominations.
If you know of a business or individual who have excelled in their field in the last 12 months or exude professionalism and stand-out service be sure to start jotting down their details in preparation of placing a nomination.
Support with submissions will be also be available should nominees require.
Further details on the event, award categories and nominations are available from the ‘events’ tab on the Commerce North West website.
