The Lake Moondarra to Tony White Oval course offered categories for beginners to experienced fitness levels.
On offer was a 5km and 10km run, 21km walk or run and team run relay.
With 192 registrations this year, the morning promised to be high energy.
IsaRats President Richard Norris said even though the records from last year didn’t fall, it was a great morning of racing – the men’s and women’s Heavy Mech half marathon came down to the wire with some quick times.
The male winner of the 21km run was John Doody Jnr who ran an impressive 1.26.49 and Kim Alcorn took out first place for the female half marathon at 1.44.14.
“John Doody held off Derek Skora by just 3 seconds, and Kim Alcorn had Clare Lehmann and Kate Wildes breathing down her neck right to the line in the women’s race,” Norris said.
“Jayden Boshoff took out overall honours in the SMH 5K – he’s still in the U15s so that’s an impressive achievement.”
Morgan Buchanan took out first in the female SMH 5km with a time of 27.35.
The Downer 10km winner was Greg Mitchell at 39.33 with second place Clayton Green coming in at 46.28 and third place was won by Anthony Lawler with 49.23.
Claire Evans was the first woman to finish the Downer 10km race in a time of 50.18 followed by Jess Sheehan and Colleen Boshoff.
Tony Toholke 3.13.21 was only seconds in front of Rosina Oliver 3.13.37 being the first male and female 21km walkers to cross the finish line.
Norris said we have to thank the volunteers, and all of our sponsors, because without them Outback to the Stack simply could not happen.
