It goes like this: When one person says “it’s raining outside” and a second then says “it’s sunny outside”, it is not the job of a journalist to report both statements equally, but rather to look out the bloody window and see who is right.
Actually that’s not quite accurate – the original story uses a much stronger word than “bloody” – but you get the point even though sometimes verification might be a lot more difficult than merely looking out the window.
However when it comes to dealing with the ridiculous demands of the dropkicks who go by the idiotic name of “Animal Liberation Queensland”, their claims simply do not hold water.
I have attended every day of Mount Isa Rodeo for the past three years and have not seen one issue of animal welfare that has concerned me in that time.
And I’m not surprised by that. Those that work there whether rodeo performers, officials, stock contractors, vets or volunteers, all know more about looking after animals than any of these clowns in Brisbane (ALQ head office: 478 Ipswich Rd).
ALQ is all about empty virtue signalling, secretly filming tonnes of video which it can then edit into 20 seconds of shock coverage designed to tug the outrage strings of naive bleeding hearts in the city that have never been further west than Mt Coot-tha.
Do ALQ genuinely care about animals in the bush?
Of course they don’t because they show no signs of caring about the people who look after them.
Do they care about animals in the city?
Nope, not there either because these smug hypocrites are too smart to bite the hand that feeds them and demand that well-attended city events at Doomben or Eagle Farm be shut down.
It is much easier to demand further-away events like the Mount Isa Rodeo be shut down without any justification.
Then they sit back as they whip their followers into a frenzy as those followers reply with comments like “rednecks”, “Neantherdals”, “monsters”, and “putrid bastards”.
ALQ have no interest in the bush. They don’t care about the drought, they don’t care about rural towns, they don’t offer any meaningful alternatives, they just shout and scream about “barbaric bogans”.
It is a ludicrous over-reaction by unfeeling cretins who care about nothing other than generating media publicity for their propaganda videos.
The Mount Isa Rodeo is a great event as witnessed by thousands – it has nothing to be ashamed of, unlike ALQ.
The Rodeo community needs to stand tall against their heartless lies.
