The North West Star was there to catch the Saturday action but no one better Ezekiel Douglas’s superb 75 point ride in the bull ride a day earlier.
The junior bulls were proving too tough for all the riders though there were a couple of agonisingly close 7.9 second rides.
Not until the final bull ride of the day did Jack Keats go the distance and rack up 70 points to go second.
In the barebacks Dion Lane notched a 74 while Cody Angland wasn’t far behind with a 72 point ride before resuming pick-up man duties.
In the open saddle bronc Gavin Fry tamed the wild stock to notch up a 69 while Mark Walsh also got a qualified ride with 66 points.
The station buck jump was also drawing a blank with all competitors bucked until Eli Donovan stepped in with the last re-ride of the day and scored a 64.
The competition went to the buckle round on Sunday.
