With the Birdsville Cup racing festival over, the action moves back to the North West.
And the Schumacher Park event closes the three month races drought for the Cloncurry Race Track and ties in nicely to the ‘Beat the Heat’ Festival which is happening all weekend in the Curry (September 5 to 9).
Cloncurry Race Club president Luke Daniels said the September races were a local favourite, offering something for everyone.
“The Spring races is one of our biggest, due to the cooler weather and other activities simultaneously held in Cloncurry,” Mr Daniels said.

Mr Daniels said that this year to tie into the Beat the Heat festival, they wanted to offer something a little different.
“We’re putting on a Chilli Eating competition and live music to finish the day,” Mr Daniels said.
Off the track, timeless style takes centre stage in the Curry.
Ladies and gents are encouraged to vie for the converted Fashions of the Field competition.
Prim and proper suits are encouraged as is the frill of a flawless frock.
The Cloncurry Race Club said the season of spring is the theme.
Patrons are encouraged to don dapper florals and add a splash of colour.
Junior fillies and colts will also have their chance in the limelight, with prizes awarded for all categories.
On the track Schumacher Park will host five horse races, with a total of $35,000 in prize money.
Gates open at 11:30am, with members and kids under 15 free and $10 entry for adults.
Live bookies, and food stalls will also be on hand on the track.
