Along with the visual upgrades, the super season of sport kicks off with a 7s Tournament on Saturday October 13.
President Kirk McGregor said this season Mount Isa Rugby Union is all about change.
“The internal clubhouse is getting a major makeover courtesy of Paint and Décor, Bunnings and Dollars and Sense and we’re currently in talks with sponsors about the external grounds. We are excited about the changes that will take place,” he said.
Karen Pye from Isuzu said they were proud to be involved in kicking off the season as major sponsors.
“We are happy to do our part in the community that we live in,” Ms Pye said.
McGregor said team entry for the Tournament is $200 and the final date to register is Saturday October 6.
“Teams will be playing for $1000 first prize and $500 second prize,” he said.
Along with all the exciting changes and the start of season, a new sub-committee has been elected which McGregor says is giving the club a boost of fresh energy and positivity.
“We are very happy to welcome our new sub-committee and we’re incredibly grateful for their time and support.”
Volunteers are needed to help with various aspects of the club.
“At the moment we are looking for volunteers to help with the running of our Juniors competition this season.
“We are in need of referees and Queensland Rugby Union will be running a free course on Saturday October 13 for anyone in town who may be interested,” he said.
