They defeated Sandfire Bulls 3-0 in Friday night’s A grade grand final/
“The team was strengthened this year with the inclusion of Learlin Richards, Ellen Bos, Jess Neil and Amy Page to an already strong team,” coach Frank Lawler said.
“With players such as Lisa Biondi, Gabbi, Chelsea and the club stalwart and captain Kerrie Dempsey the team has gone from strength to strength.”
Bulls coach Clinton Ah-One said the team went into the final with the with the underdogs tag and were unable to match Parkside’s strength.
“I believe the dominance is because of their committed core players, these experienced players guide their juniors and have played consistently, not to forget the inclusion of their experienced coach Frank Lawler he’s helped make their team play a stronger passing game and they’ve gone to another level,” Mr Ah-One said.
Concordia claimed victory against Cloncurry in the B grade final 4-0.
“Under the coaching of Brendan Voss, we’ve improved so many aspects of our game this season,” Concordia president Danielle Slade said.
Cloncurry’s Rikki Fulton said the team could be proud of their great sportsmanship throughout this year’s season.
“As with the transient and shift working nature of Cloncurry we have had to cope with the loss of players throughout the season and this is noticeable in the finals series,” Ms Fulton said.
“This year has been highly successful and we look forward to building on it next season.”
