Lyn has been living on Sweers Island for 30 years and has explored a lot of the island in that time.
She has circumnavigated it in several tinnies, and together with her husband Tex and blue heeler dog Cara, they've even sailed a small catamaran around the island.
In April Lyn took up an alcohol-free challenge with the OYNB (One Year No Beer) group. Her initial 30-day Challenge turned into 90 days.
Part of the OYNB is to nominate a physical challenge.
Lyn has been training since May and named the second-hand boat ‘ChardonNay’.
It was saying no to wine that brought the whole project about and enabled her to pay for the boat.
American visitor Nick Zajac paddled around the island last year, stopping briefly for a break on the beach, so Lyn wanted to do it non-stop.
She paddled for 6.5 hours to cover the 28km distance around the island.
