The organisation will use the $24,184.10 it scored in Round 96 of the Community Gambling Benefit Fund to install a 5kw solar power system at its kitchen.
The team at Mount Isa Meals on Wheels delivers around 1000 meals to the community each month.
Secretary Bob Bentley said Meals on Wheels was committed to keeping its prices as low as possible, and the new solar system would bring down operating costs.
Member for Traeger Robbie Katter welcomed the news $300,000 had been allocated to Mount Isa community groups as part of Round 96 of the Fund.
He said it was excellent to hear that Mount Isa Meals on Wheels was able to invest in its future as a result of attaining one of the grants.
Other recipients of this round include the Sikaran Martial Arts, which will use their $35,000 grant to upgrade their premises by installing new fences and gates.
The Sunset State School Parents and Citizens Association will receive $35,000 to upgrade a school playground, while the Normanton Rugby League Football Club will purchase a new club car with its $35,000.
