Merilyn Harding from the Club said last weekend they worked the bar for the Breast Cancer fundraiser on Saturday night.
More than 300 people gathered under the stars at the sold out event at Mount Isa Race Club to help raise funds for the The North West Breast Cancer Support Group.
“It was a great night and we had a lot turn up from our club,” Merilyn said. “We manned the bar from 5pm until midnight and it was a good community service.”
The Club also awarded local fundraising legend Kathy Swift, 91, a Paul Harris Fellow last weekend.
“The award is recognition of her contribution to the community,” Merilyn said.
“Kathy has raised funds for leukaemia for many years and this was the opportunity to present the first Paul Harris Fellow since changeover.”
The North West Star wishes Kathy well as she recovers after a recent fall.
