Musicians from Spinfex’s Junior Extension Ensemble featured alongside professional performers in a community concert dubbed The Air I Breathe.
The hour long concert was held at the Salvation Army Hall.
“We are very proud that our musical students were given yet another opportunity to showcase their wonderful talent for the Mount Isa community,” the school said.
Musica Viva flautist Kate Proctor, bassoonist Matthew Kneale and clarinettist Llloyd Van’t Hoff joined the young performers on stage.

Musica Viva is a not-for-profit that tours regional Australia bringing the best nationally and internationally acclaimed performers direct to schools.
In a dazzling display of virtuosity, the three members of The Air I Breathe show how, through musical instruments, the human body can harness the power of air and use it to express our identity in a unique way.
A clarinet, a bassoon and flute magically conjure up a rainy day in bed, a fairy tale world beyond imagination, the god of the East Wind, and a steaming locomotive.
Students then learn how to master their own breath and use it as a creative, joyful and life affirming force.
