The dragon boats are a colourful part of the Classic and one of the most popular features of the Saturday afternoon as the crowd cheers on their team from the shoreline.
The call is out to individuals, teams, corporate and community groups to get a team together for this year’s race and each team must have 14 people on the boat with a cost of $200 per boat.
There will be a 400m time trial on the Lake with the three fastest teams from the heats going through to the final with cash prizes for the winners - there is $1200 up for grabs.
And if you have got a team together you can train out out on the lake using North West Queensland Canoe Club facilities.
Dragon boating starts from the Canoe Club every Saturday at 3.30pm until race day.
Cost is $10 each.
The Lake Moondarra Fishing Classic 2018 is on October 26 to 28.
The Mount Isa community markets will be held in conjunction with the Classic.
