This annual fundraising event hosted by the Mount Isa Race Club and organised by Mel See is a popular event among many locals “because many have gone through breast cancer”.
“The money raised always stays local and it’s a cause close to our hearts,” Ms See said..
“Last year we raised $8 500 but this year we raised a whopping $10,000,” Ms See said.
The cheque was presented at the Spring Cup Race meet.
Cassie Lloyd said the old race Club Committee started the fundraising event six years ago as a high tea or a brunch but when the new committee came over it grew to a luncheon then a dinner event.
“It was a great success so we will keep the tradition going,” Ms Lloyd said.
Mel See said local businesses really got behind us with their support and we’d like to thank everyone for their kind efforts.
