The Ruck and Maul bar served its first drink at the season’s opening night gala on Friday..
Volunteers, sponsors, golden oldies and players converged on the union grounds to christen the bar with a few beverages.
Union president Kurt McGregor was pretty chuffed with how the revamp turned out.
“Before the bar was pretty retro and now it is more modern,” Mr McGregor said.
“It has an appreciation for where we came from with photos from the 70s and 80s and even a photo of our old clubhouse.
“We hope this rejuvenation will get some more people down to watch the games,” he said.

The Ruck and Maul bar will be open for Saturday night union games from 5:30 to midnight.
If you head to the bar, make sure to check out the custom furniture made especially by Mr McGregor.
Along with all the exciting changes and the start of season, a new sub-committee has been elected which McGregor says is giving the club a boost of fresh energy and positivity.
“We are very happy to welcome our new sub-committee and we’re incredibly grateful for their time and support,” he said.
Volunteers are needed to help with various aspects of the club.
“At the moment we are looking for volunteers to help with the running of our Juniors competition this season."
