The Australian Junior Rodeo Association is hosting their second annual end-of-year event which also offers a music extravaganza – The Battle of the Bands.

The weekend will have you yee-hawing from Friday October 19 – 21 with not only 10 Rodeo events but with development workshops at the Cloncurry Equestrian Centre.
The Rodeo is comprised of open and junior events including: team roping, breakaway, barrel race, rope and tie, steer wrestling and steer ride.
Committee member Kylee Ferguson, said the event would host a Rodeo development and practice evening on Friday.
“It’s for upcoming rodeo competitors and it starts at 6.30pm,” Ms Ferguson said.
On Saturday morning at 10am Mount Isa Rural and Remote Health will be presenting a health and wellbeing workshop on injury prevention within rodeos.
Ms Ferguson said a singer/songwriter workshop will be held on Sunday morning and for those interested in registering for the Ernest Henry Battle of the Bands, there is still time.
“The Association is focused on development of youth and taking them through to success in the sport of rodeo.”
Gates open on Saturday October 20 at 1pm and the Rodeo commences at 2pm.
Admission costs $10 for adults and $5 for school aged children.
Spectators can enjoy the market stalls, food stalls, and live entertainment from BullDust into the late evening.
