Mount Isa Race Club hosts its annual Melbourne Cup meet this Tuesday, November 6.
And there is plenty going on at the track for eager punters.
The Race Club said their annual Melbourne Cup buffet luncheon would return by popular demand.
The buffet luncheon costs just $50 for Race Club members and $60 for non-members.
As well as a big lunch there will be Melbourne Cup sweeps available as well as complimentary champagne on arrival.
You’ll need to wear your racing finest as there will be rewards for sartorial elegance.
The Race Club said there would be prizes for best dressed male and female as well as best millinery but bookings for the luncheon were essential.
There will be five races on the day.
Gates Open from 11am with $10 on the gate for normal entry to the grounds for punters.
“Get ready for a great day out,” the Club said.
There will be two more race meets at Mount Isa after the Melbourne Cup meet to finish the season for 2018 before the summer break until March 2019.
The Mount Isa Christmas races are on Saturday, December 1.
And there will be one final meet a week later on Saturday, December 8.
