The traditional luncheon was replaced with the sound and drama of the action on the big screen as the guests eagerly waited to watch Cross Counter triumph in the main race.

Marmelo ridden by jockey, Hugh Bowman came in second and third place was taken out by A Prince of Arran. Fourth place was given to Finche.

Marketing and Events Coordinator Tullita Miller said it was a fun filled day. 

“The entertainer David Whitehead did an amazing job on the piano keeping everyone in good cheer and of course the fashions of the field were a blast,” Ms Miller said.

Twelve men and woman and one young child entered the Fashion of the Fields and paraded across the stage.

The crowd cheered each fashionista with the loudest cheers going to the winners.

Mel Atherinos, Robert Musgrove and the youngest and smallest competitor Aria-Rose Baker won the best dressed on the day.

A lucky door prize was pull out of a hat and awarded to Patience.
