Mr Payne said more than 10 males working within the school are growing their mustaches.
“We have some classroom teachers, our school groundsman and external staff who come and support the school and our Tech staff as well,” Mr Payne said.
A Barkly Mo Bro’s page has been set up on the Movember website to accept donations from the community.
On Friday November 30 the Mustache musketeers will be holding a shave off at the Barkly School during a special parade.
“We will be encouraging all of our students to donate a gold coin towards male Prostate Cancer, and to come to school with a painted-on mustache,” he said.
In Australia one in eight men are diagnosed with Prostate Cancer before the age of 75.
“We will have a staff member, Sarah Bax, shaving the creations off.”
“It will be a great to raise awareness this Movember for all the dads, brothers, sons and mates in our lives,” he said.
