The conference called “Australia’s Mount Isa and the North West Minerals Province: Showcasing Northern Australia’s Potential” was due to be held at Brisbane’s Hilton Hotel on November 22-23.
Local mayors were due to address the conference about the opportunities of the North West Minerals Province as well as sessions on Copper String Project, the Beetaloo Basin, the Isa Superbasin and the Northern Gas Pipeline.
Council said it will now be held next year.
Council said the postponement was due to a number of factors including the postponement of the release of policy statements from the Queensland and federal governments, unavailability of a number of key speakers and some competing events around the same dates
“The Mount Isa City Council and Mount Isa and the North West Minerals Province Conference Committee is looking forward to delivering this first-of-a-kind conference in March 2019,” a spokesperson said.
