Cloncurry Rodeo competitor, Brandee Ferguson lined up along side some of the nation’s best cowboys and cowgirls and kicked up the dust in the Ladies Barrel Racing by taking out first prize.
Ferguson said every year she competes, she notices an improvement.
“I was well-prepared and made sure my horse was treated and massaged then tuffrocked for the 16-hour trip before heading to Dalby.”

“Ending the season with a bang made my heart smile, all I can say is I’m so proud of how my horse ran and I’m so blessed to have been able to win the Ladies Barrel Racing title for 2018,” she said.
The National Rodeo Finals provides a valuable platform for associations Australia-wide to showcase their competitor’s talent to their peers and the local community.
NRCA Director Colin McTaggart said the event featured a line-up of the top five competitors from each of the participating associations.
Ferguson also competed in the Ladies Breakaway Roping on Saturday.
“I can say roping didn’t go to plan, but that just means I need to spend more time in the practice pen.”
“Overall, I was so happy with how consistently my horse, Raven ran over the four runs,” she said.
