In the final weekend of the regular T20 season Black Stars won the toss against the Cavs and they elected to bat first.
Opener Jamie Stewart was out cheaply for eight off the bowling of Cody Tully.
But his departure brought Andrew Cullis to the crease to join the other opener Trent Cameron and the pair produced what would prove a match-winning partnership.
Cameron was unlucky not to make a century but he carried his bat aloft as he made 98 not out.

Cullis chipped in with a handy 41 runs before being run out in a partnership of 103 runs.
That brought Alistair Baker to the crease and he made 24 not out in an imposing final tally of 2/174.
Cavs gallantly began the chase and opener Sam Peters smashed his way to 66 before losing his wicket to the bowling of Cullis.
There was solid support from Dale Roberts (25) Corey Martin (24) and Cody Tully (20).
But the run rate required was too hard and Cavs just fell short making 7/116.
Black Stars won by eight runs.
Andrew Cullis backed up his 41 by being deadly with the ball and he end up with a match-winning total of 4/42.
The final T20 points table was:

Panthers w3 l3 6pts NRR -2.58
Western Bulls w2 l4 4pts -0.65
Black Stars go through to the final as minor premiers.
Cavaliers and Panthers were tied on 6 points apiece but Cavaliers have gone through to the final on Net Run Rate.
The Net Run Rate is calculated by taking the average runs per over scored for a particular team and deducting the average runs per over scored against that particular team.
Panthers’ Net Run Rate was severely impacted by their forfeiting two games during the T20 competition.
The T20 grand final between Black Stars and Cavs will be at Captain Cook Oval this Saturday, November 17 beginning at 10am.
