The drought angels from The Buffs Club, Zealifi (Hospitality Training and Consulting), Global Beverage Solutions and Southern Cross Austereo travelled to Bedourie last weekend to deliver upon their promise to help drought stricken farmers in the Diamontina and Boulia Shires.

Marketing Manager from the Buffs Club Brooke Donnelly said they headed out on the Friday and met some of the Bedourie locals.
“We toured around Saturday, and enjoyed what Bedourie had to offer than set up for the Clout the Drought, the Shire’s Night Out event on Saturday night,” Ms Donnelly said.
During the event, the donations from the Mount Isa community were handed over to the Shire, along with two coffee machines donated by Global Beverage Solutions and $2300 from Zealifi Workplace Training and Consultancy.
The Mount Isa community raised $9, 000 at the Buffs Club, The Lend a Hand to the Land campaign.
More than 50 people attended the event at the Bedourie Hall including 24 children.
Ms Donnelly said there was a DJ and a singer, food, a bar and everyone had a good night, many of the locals were extremely grateful.
“The Council called in people off their properties to come in and they did.”
“The evening took their minds off the drought for a short time,” she said.
The generousity of the drought angels didn’t end there, after heading home they stopped into a Station to ask if they were okay.

“The station is 1.6 million acres wide and very dry. We met the family with three little children. They were very welcoming.”
Ms Donnelly said they were very happy with how the weekend went and that the farmers were appreciative of what the businesses involved and the Mount Isa Community were able to do for them.
