The weather was humid on Saturday morning and when the man in the red suit arrived the riders just knew he would need some extra help.
Santa Claus was issued with a special ice vest to ensure his comfort during the ride to 15 houses to pick up toys for less fortunate children in the region.
Cheryl Moloney said the modified vest had four pockets.
“Within the pockets we fit four frozen ice packs. Two in the front and two in the back,” Ms Moloney said.
“It helped to keep Santa a bit more chilled because he is from the North Pole and we didn’t want him to overheat,” she said.
More than 30 motorcyclists gathered at Outback at Isa to start the run most arriving in festive attire.
“Because we are a shift-working town, it varies every year. We’ve had up to 40 bikes come to do the run.”
The HOGS collect the toys from the generousity of householders who have registered for a pick up.
“We collect toys for the Salvation Army and they distribute the toys when it get closer to Christmas.”
The ride finished at The Overlander Hotel, who support the Mount Isa HOGS in their endevours.
“We always finish there to support them, to give back,” Ms Moloney said.
The HOGS thanked the community and local businesses for their support.
