Managers Bob and Lyn Thomas were thrilled to hear the news when it was announced at the November 4 Awards hosted by the Maranoa Regional Council.
“These awards are a reflection of the outstanding achievements made by Council over the last three years,” Mrs Thomas said.
She also shared a review received by a Polish traveller who had journeyed through, Russia, Asia, Germany and Australia.
“Of all the parks and campgrounds he had stayed in, Lakeview Caravan Park was the most clean and well presented out of them all,” he said.
Richmond Shire Council has worked hard with community groups across the Shire to raise the profile of events by hosting weekly community dinners through the tourist season.
Mayor John Wharton said these dinners have proven to be very popular, giving tourists the opportunity to meet some local characters and contribute to fundraising for our local clubs.
“I’m proud of the commitment council made to tourism and the improvements and extensions made to the Park to accommodate the increasing number of tourists each year,” Cr Wharton said.
