Shaun Solomon Chairperson of Gidgee Healing said both business supported each other.
“Bell & Moir were kind enough to show their support for the work that Gidgee do by supplying us with a vehicle,” Mr Solomon said.
“Gidgee Healing and Bell & Moir are embedded into the community and have been for many years but a big chunk of what the branding is about is to continue promoting the presence of Gidgee in the community and throughout the region,” he said.
“Gidgee has spent the last 12 months extending its footprint out past the north west region. This vehicle will help get the new communities, that we have a presence in, aware of who we are, what we’re about and the work we are doing,” he said.
Owner of Bell & Moir Linda Pullman said they believe very strongly in supporting local initiatives and the community.
“As a community in the north west region we are isolated, we’re left to our own devices out here, so supporting each other is the way to go,” Mrs Pullman said.
“People support us by giving to our business so we want to give back by supporting our community and Gidgee Healing is a very big part of our community, so we are very happy to do that.”
Gidgee Healing have particular goals they want to achieve within the region and the remote communities making the vehicle an integral part of that development as a promotional tool.
Communications and Marketing Manager for Gidgee Healing Trish Macnamara said every where I am and where Gidgee has an event or a presence that vehicle will be used.
“We used the vehicle already at Light Up the Night where we had a stall.”
In three weeks time the highly visibly branded vehicle will travel to the outer communities such as Normanton and Doomadgee.
