The emergency service received a call at about 4.30pm from a property owner.
Residents in the area were warned about the impact of smoke from the fire.
Firefighters advised people to keep their doors and windows closed and medication close by, if they suffered from a respiratory condition.
Motorists were urged to use caution and drive to the conditions.
A spokesperson from Queensland Rural Fire Service said at about 8.30pm firefighters handed responsibility of the fire back to the property owner, as the land was deemed to be appropriately accessible.
