Since the facility’s inception more than 50 years ago, when it was better known as the Mount Isa Town Pool, its easily-recognisable front entrance has always been accessed directly from Isa Street.
However, from Tuesday December 4, the Splashez entrance will now be accessed via the archway and side road between Splashez and the Skate Park, which will take visitors through the facility’s new kiosk and into the pool area.
Roller doors will be kept down to cover the old entrance, with the former kiosk to be converted into a new amenity in the near future.
The Manager of Splashez, Matt Kelly, says the new kiosk will initially have limited items in stock – drinks and ice creams will still be available, with hot food to be introduced at a later date.
Splashez Aquatic Centre’s operating hours – 5.30am to 7pm, seven days a week – remain unchanged.
