The new eight metre tall tree will replace the old tree of more than 10 years and will take pride of place in the centre of the Civic Centre lawn this December.
The tree will be decorated in a traditional red and gold theme, along with lit pine garlands along the Civic Centre facade and Council Admin awning.
Adding to the festive theme will be lights and LED ball display in the Civic Centre lawn gum tree and the Simpson/Rodeo Drive roundabout.
The light will be officially switched on at 7.30pm Friday December 7, at the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.
There will be Carollers attending, a Christmas poem by Mayor Joyce McCulloch, and free gingerbread and candy canes. Everyone is welcome to attend.
