Known as the Copa Guy, Mr Batten has been bringing his special brand of artwork to Mount Isa for the past 25 years, setting up a stall for a couple of weeks leading up to Christmas.
This year you can find his unique brand of copper artwork at the Buffs Club from Thursday December 13 through till after Christmas, Thursday December 27.
Mr Batten makes the long trip from Cairns to the north west, stopping along the way to highlight his artistry to people who show an interest.
He travels to Mount Isa most Christmas’s because he has family here.
“My son, his wife and my two grand-kids live in there. Jesse works underground at Ernest Henry,” mr Batten said.
“This year I’m doing an exhibition in the foyer of the Buffs Club.
The talented artist creates wall murals, table tops, wall signs nad logos.
“The one striking and powerful feature of Copa Guy art work is that each piece is individual, original and therefore very unique.”
