William Barton has been playing didgeridoo for over 20 years since he learned the instrument in Mount Isa.
He has toured internationally since aged 15 and is now an accomplished composer and performer of world renown.
Barton has collaborated with symphonies around the world including London Philharmonic, Brooklyn Philharmonic and Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, with recent success writing and performing music for Sydney Theatre Company.
At Woodford he will host an open workshop/forum, discussion audience questions and his own methods and techniques for playing on Friday, December 28 and he is also doing two performances on Thursday and Friday (December 27 and 28).
Audiences are invited to join him on a journey of the Australian landscape as he encapsulates Indigenous art, culture and history through his fusion of musical languages.
“Blending classical and contemporary sounds, he paints a vivid picture inspired by how we walk together as one on this vast nation,” Woodford promoters said.
Barton will be accompanied on stage by his partner, acclaimed violist, Véronique Serret and his mother, acclaimed opera singer, Delmae Barton.
