Around 50 people including 41 of the town’s finest seniors were treated to a lovely Christmas lunch at Discovery Caravan Park as the festive season heats up.
The laugh and jokes around the room showed these seniors were there to enjoy themselves and keep up the town’s deserved reputation for cordiality.
Host and Cloncurry Mayor Greg Campbell welcome attendees with the news that Keep Queensland Beautiful had named the Curry as the friendliest town in the state and he even brought along a large certificate commemorating the town’s latest honour.
“We know we are friendly but it is good the rest of the state does too now,” Cr Campbell said.
“So Merry Christmas and give yourself a round of applause for your efforts.”
