First, The Mount Isa water Board, for supplying the funding for this project.
Second, The Mount Isa City Council, for the excellent construction work carried out, in the completion of this project.
As a long time resident of Mount Isa, it is pleasing to see work being done, that will benefit our city, as a whole.
It is not only beneficial for the locals, but I’m sure it will be for tourists as well. Especially for the bird watchers among us.

LNP has no understanding of economics, water or infrastructure
There can be no questioning of the Palaszczuk Government’s commitment to water security and safety.
The Member for Burdekin and the LNP (Star letters, December 6) pump out the same old lines as they have no understanding of economics, water or infrastructure.
They continue to cherry-pick figures and take them out of context, conveniently ignoring the funding this Government invests year after year to ensuring Queenslanders have a safe and reliable source of water.
Both Seqwater and SunWater utilise their revenue towards managing their portfolios of dams and infrastructure plus further Government funding from consolidated revenue.
Last financial year the Palaszczuk Government invested more than $78.5 million on dam improvements around Queensland – a figure that has increased year on year since Labor came into office.
The Palaszczuk Government has invested more than $154 million on dam improvements since it came into power.
Seqwater has allocated $1billion-plus for dam improvements up to 2030 while Sunwater has budgeted $1.3 billion over the next 10 years.
The Queensland Competition Authority has been asked to commence a review of irrigation pricing for 2020-24.
This independent authority with give careful consideration to all stakeholder input, including growers, irrigators, businesses and the QFF.
The QCA will be required to limit annual price increases similar to previous reviews.
The goal is for irrigators to have greater pricing certainty, simplicity and transparency to allow them to plan for the future.

Minister for Natural Resources, Mines and Energy
