The Pioneer house was reported early, which saw a quick response from emergency services who are continuing to extinguish the blaze.
Queensland Police have confirmed that no one was injured in the fire and a crime scene will remain in place until early hours of Wednesday morning.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage but Queensland Police are currently talking to witnesses.
Sue See Avenue remains blocked off to all traffic.
Four fire crews were deployed to the address in Pioneer and local police confirmed there was no damage to neighbouring houses.
Queensland Police have evacuated houses to the north of the residence.
Billowing smoke was seen towering into the sky from all areas of Mount Isa.
Queensland Ambulance Service advise locals to stay indoors if you’re at risk of inhaling any smoke.
