This is the first Dog Squad posting for Constable Davidson and his Police Dog (PD) Gilly, following completion of his basic dog training course in Brisbane in December.
Constable Davidson and his family jumped at the opportunity to work and live in Mount Isa and have embraced all the challenges and experiences that come with living in a remote location.
Being a keen fisherman and hunter, he reckons he has found his ideal spot.
“It’s such a great place to live and work, there are so many great locations to visit whilst here,” Constable Davidson said.
Constable Davidson joins Acting Sergeant Steve Lindsey and PD Leo, previously from Ipswich.
Sergeant Lindsey has been relieving in Mount Isa as the Officer in Charge of the Dog Squad, since October 2018.
Acting Sergeant Lindsey admits that first impressions of Mount Isa can be deceiving, however after a very short space of time, he has come to love the town. So much in fact, that he has applied to stay permanently.
“There’s more to the place than first meets the eye and I would recommend Mount Isa to anyone,” Acting Sergeant Lindsey said.
