Yallambee Fun Day is an annual event held to support and encourage community involvement.
Stakeholders from across Mount Isa attended Yallambee to promote their available services.
Many service providers encouraged the community to come and have a chat about the services they offer and what they can do for them.
Gidgee Healing, Young People Ahead, the Queensland Police, Injilinji Pre-school and Kindergarten and Centrecare were a range of stake holders available during the morning.
The reserve based centre’s coordinator Valerie Hendriks said it’s about the Mount Isa community coming together to have fun and parents engaging with their children to give them a fun day out and to give the children down here a chance to play with other children.
“We had 16 service providers set up stalls in the morning and we wlcomed resicence and people from the community as well,” Ms Hendriks said.
“Mob FM broadcast from the event and their were prize draws through out the day.
“A local hairdresser set up in the hall to cut hair for the residence and whoever wanted one and free lead testing for everyone was available,” she said.
There was a lot of fun to be had for the children with jumping castles and activities to keep them entertained.
The event was supported by more than 150 visitors, and included healthy food stalls.
