As of Monday, the Lake Moondarra capacity was 36.0% while Lake Julius was sitting at 75.0%.
While these readings are low, they are almost identical to the same time last year (34.7% and 76.8% respectively on January 23) before the big wet hit.
However after some parts of the North West copped 300mm in two days in early March, Julius climbed to 100% while Moondarra reached almost 70%.
The BoM is predicting hot and sunny weather for Mount Isa with next Monday the best chance of any rain at 20%.
Weatherzone says there is a likelihood of tropical cyclone development which will increase later this week as the monsoon trough descends over northern Australia but it is unclear if it will affect North West Queensland.
