With more than 160 exhibitors and just over 1300 people through the gate in 2018, the 2019 Richmond Field Days and Races, being held at the Richmond Racecourse on June 14 – 15, is set to be another record breaker according to field days committee secretary Kacie Lord.

Mrs Lord said over its 30 years the event has built up a reputation for providing excellent opportunities for businesses to showcase their products and services and for offering “a great social event in the north”.
“Richmond hasn’t had any rain to make a difference lately, but the monsoon trough is finally making its presence felt so hopefully better times lie ahead,” she said.
Mrs Lord said the committee will host a meet and greet for the field day sponsors and exhibitors, on the night of Thursday, June 13.
“It’s a great networking event that everyone is welcome to attend.”
She said Fridays’ slate of events will provide visitors with a diverse choice of options in between inspecting the many exhibits.
“Our focus this year is on highlighting education, health and the technology options which people living and working in our region can now or soon will have access to.
“The Meat & Livestock Association has become one of our major sponsors and they’ll focus their presence at the event on technology.”
Mrs Lord said the Hughenden Motorcycles Lawn Mower Derby, returning for its fourth year in 2019, will be another highlight as it continues to grow in competitiveness and popularity.
“Also returning after a solid result in 2018 is The Richmond Field Days All Breeds Bull Sale which will be held on the racecourse grounds.”
On Friday evening, the fun will continue at the Richmond Civic Centre with the Stockplace Cocktail Party, and on Saturday morning visitors will be able to continue to shop up a storm until Race Day action and Fashions on the Field competition begins near midday.
“The fun doesn’t end there though with the ringers challenge, mechanical bull riding competition, and live entertainment sure to keep everyone going until late.”
