Those funny guys at Cloncurry Shire Council are at it again!
Having turned their 43 successive days of 40 degrees into a viral video, they have followed up with another cracker called “Cloncurry cold snap” as the mercury “plummets” to a mere 38!

If as Cloncurry mayor Greg Campbell 43 days of 40 was similar “to a fan-forced oven all the time”, then this latest video suggested locals weren’t dealing too well with the “cold snap”.
Locals like Luke Chaplain appear rugged up in a doona and in ski gear huddling up to a fire while even the star of the first video Rob Carn wanders past wearing a beanie – though still in his trademark budgies.
Then the Mayor shows up in winter apparel talking tongue in cheek about the drop from over 40 to a “very cool” 38 and the opportunity to save on power bills by turning off fridges.

“Cloncurry – Queensland friendliest town – come and check us out,” the Mayor said.
“You are guaranteed for a warm welcome any time of the year.”
The video ended on a semi serious note to say that signs of a wet season are finally beginning to show in the North West.
Let it rain – and let it rain more videos in Cloncurry!
