At 2.40pm on Sunday January 27, a 30-year-old Awaba man was intercepted on Ryan Rd for a Roadside Drug Test where he allegedly returned a positive reading. A second analysis returned another positive result.

The man was issued with a 24 hour driver licence suspension, was charged with drug driving and will appear in the Mount Isa Magistrates Court in March.
On Friday January 25 police said a group of male youths committed property offences across town, which occurred overnight between Wednesday January 23 and Thursday January 24.
Three youths were charged the following day, however officers from the Mount Isa Child Protection Unit and General Duties located and charged an outstanding boy on Friday January 25.
The 14-year-old Winston boy was charged in relation to the above offences, but also with outstanding property offences committed in December and January.
He was charged with six counts of enter premises, five counts of enter premises by break, two counts of wilful damage and one count of trespass.
He will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
