The first program, Score IT! invites students to write an original piece of music for a short film, while being mentored by acclaimed Hollywood composer Cameron Patrick, who has worked on Toy Story, Cars 2, Star Trek, Jurassic World and more.
The second program is called On Song.
It is an opportunity for young singer/songwriters from around Queensland to develop and showcase their musical talents, and win a chance to be involved in workshops with acclaimed song writer Jack Carty.
The programs are open to musical students aged 12-18 years in regional areas.
In the past, students involved with these programs have gone on to enrol in music conservatoriums, work in Los Angeles and win music scholarships abroad at some of the most prestigious schools in the world.
Submissions close on Friday May 24. Entry is free. For more information and guidelines, please visit www.qmf.org.au
