On Tuesday Northern Territory police said they had arrested a 36-year-old male in Darwin. “He will be extradited to Queensland at a later date,” NT Police said.
Mr Baker had been missing for 15 months at the time of his arrest. He faces three counts of fraud, two counts of stealing as a person in public service, and misconduct of a police officer and this is the second extradition.
He resigned from QPS as a Sergeant in Camooweal before disciplinary action was taken against alleged actions, and he was extradited from the Territory in July 2017.
He was due to face the Mount Isa Magistrates Court on October 30, 2017 but failed to appear.
His Legal Aid Queensland solicitor Rhianna Batt told the court she had “lost contact” with him and applied for an adjournment. After a second failure to appear in court on November 6 a warrant was put out for his arrest.
