The event was originally scheduled for last Saturday but heavy rain forced a week-long postponement.
Organised by Mount Isa City Council and moved from the Civic Centre to Buchanan Park for the first time, there were over 60 sporting and community groups represented from across the city to host their sign ons.
And their attendance paid off with a large crowd coming through the doors on Saturday morning as the sunshine finally returned to Mount Isa and the larger new venue enabled all exhibitors to be sited in the one place.
Mount Isa City councillor for Sport and Recreation Peta MacRae said she was delighted with the way it was unfolding.
Im really happy with the tunrout today, we didnt have to postpone a second time! Cr MacRae said.
I was a bit concerned it was a take two but we have got a really great roll up.
We had four pulled out because of the date change but then we had another four new groups jump in.
Sporting clubs from athletics, soccer, rugby league, softball, AFL and others mixed with community groups such as the Rotary Club of Mount Isa South West, the Mount Isa Show, Apex and many others.
There was food and drink available and performances on stage from the Mount Isa School of Dance, line dancers, and Isa Highland Dancers.
