On Friday March 8, entrepreneurs from across Queensland and the Northern Territory will travel to Mount Isa for the Wild Sparks business networking and information day hosted by well known blogger Miss Chardy.
The Wild Sparks event will showcase six guest speakers; five who have started their own online businesses and one in PR and Marketing who will discuss how they started and promoted their business.
The Wild Sparks idea came to Miss Chardy three years ago when she decided to host an event that people would usually have to fly to a major city to attend.
“It is the kind of event that brings women together, motivates them, helps with their businesses or inspired them to start their own venture. From this vision I finally decided to actually make it happen last year,” Miss Chardy said.
“I have partnered up with my friend Edwina Pilch and we have launched Wild Spark - Rural Women’s Network. This will eventually be an online hub to connect rural, regional and remote women. Helping women be the best they can be no matter where they live.”
Miss Chardy said this event would support rural, regional and remote women looking to go into business.
“It’s for women who would like to start their own business, women who already have a business, be it an online venture or bricks and mortar business in town, and ladies wanting to connect with like-minded women and network,” she said.
“This event is for all women, not just women in business - it is about connections and meeting new people - stepping out of your comfort zone.”
The event will include information on starting an online business, building an email list, Facebook marketing, graphics and how to put together a marketing campaign, growing your online community and how to stay authentic, accounting and bookkeeping, launching a business from a remote location, and the ups and downs of starting your own business.
The event is at Mount Isa Civic Centre and will include morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, a celebratory glass of champagne and canapés afterwards for the cocktail/networking evening.
Tickets for the event are $179 each and tables of eight can also be booked.
