Steve Wollaston will be laid to rest in Rockhampton Tuesday but there will be a service in his honour in Mount Isa next week.

The well known Mount Isa resident of 40 years passed away last week, aged 69 and his funeral will be held in Rockhampton at the East Chapel of the Rockhampton Crematorium at 3pm Tuesday, February 12.
For people in North West Queensland unable to get to the funeral there will be a memorial service in Mount Isa next Monday February 18.
Organised by the local RSL sub-branch which Vietnam veteran Steve was a proud member, it will be held in the Billabong lounge at the Buffs club at noon.
Steve’s son and daughter are heading to Mount Isa after the cremation service in Rockhampton and all who knew Steve are welcome.
Mount Isa Mines Rodeo added to the tributes to Steve.
“Steve will be fondly remembered as a generous supporter of his local community over many, many years - including as a longstanding member of the Rotary Rodeo Management Committee, where he served as Entertainment Director among his board duties,” the Rodeo said in a statement.
“Thank you Steve and thinking of his family and friends.”
