The new shop called The Baby Shack is located in the Simpson Arcade, and it’s Ms Botha and her partner's first business, making Monday morning, February 11, a special moment.
Ms Botha said they have created two areas within the shop called the Playzone and The Shack Cafe.
“The Playzone is aimed at babies under the age of three, and is an area of creativity, colour and a learning space,” Ms Botha said.
While the little ones are playing, mothers or carers can either have a coffee from the cafe or browse the merchandise, while still able to see their bundle of joy playing safely.
Custom orders such as complete nursery sets can be placed in-store and The Baby Shack offers free delivery on these products if paid for in advance.
The Baby Shack stocks car seats and car safety equipment, and a range of prams with key product ranges from Bugaboo, Britax and City Select.
In the future Ms Botha hopes to run some playgroups and staffed activities with the mums and bubs.
The business will also feature an online department store which will be available to shoppers in around six months time.
“We want to give the retail store a little time to settle in, before we put additional initiatives in place, however, the website will launch in just over two weeks,” she said.
Ms Botha said one of the emphases in-store was price matching.
“We will definitely price match anything online and that includes shipping," she said.
The shop is open Monday to Friday from 9am-5pm and on Saturday from 9am-1pm.
Molly Lancashire from Molly's Baby Room said she has moved to the Gold Coast, however a virtual shop exists to service customers at www.mollysbabyroom.com.au which reopens Friday February 15.
