The awards recognise women in the community who strive to make a difference with their involvement in business or professional achievements, personal achievements, and activities worthy of recognition.
The two prestigious awards will be presented at the Zonta Club of Mount Isa, International Women’s Day dinner at Buchanan Park on Saturday March 9.
The theme of this years dinner is Gulf Women which is based on the book launched in Burketown last year, and tells the stories of 55 women from the remote north west Queensland region.
President of the Mount Isa Zonta Club Sue Wicks said some of the women who wrote the book will be guest speakers at the dinner this year.
“We’ll be celebrating the strength and resilience of our outback women.”
