Despite the longer grass the local sides were happy to be back out in the middle and playing cricket as the ovals dried out sufficiently for play.
Blackstars took on Cavaliers at Sunset Oval.
Blackstars won the toss and batted first.
Openers Scotty Kyle and Cam Conlan made solid start rattling the scoreboard along to 67 off the first 12 overs.
Conlan's was the first wicket to fall, out for 33 off the bowling of Adam Moes.
Ash Benson joined Kyle for what would prove another major partnership.
The pair took the score along to 159 in 25 overs before Kyle went for 71 off the bowling of Dale Roberts.
Two for 159 became 3 for 161 shortly afterwards becoming Roberts' second victim bowled for 36.
J. Stewart went for 11 to Moro to make it 4/175 before T. Cameron (15) became Moro's second victim.
Andy Cullis (6) and J. Pringle (11) were also out but batting at six T. Hill chipped in with a valuable 39 not out to anchor the bottom half of the innings. At the end of their 40 overs Blackstars had made an imposing 7/243.
