Playing in the early evening game against Keas in front of a good crowd at the Alma Street Rugby Grounds, Euros took a while to get to grips with the game but in end they posted what was a comprehensive win against the boys in blue.
Euros certainly got off to a flyer winning the ball from their own kick, then launching a speculative kick into the in goal which they pounced on to post the first points with barely a minute on the scoreboard.
The lead didn’t last long with Keas stung into action with their wide men finding space to grab the equalising try within five minutes.
The first quarter was tight but as a couple of Keas succumbed to injuries their undermanned team-mates struggled.
Euros had success again with another kick and hope to regain a 12-5 lead and they dominated all the scoring from this point on.
They added two more in the next 20 minutes to go in at the break leading by 24 points to seven.
The second half was all one way traffic.
Keas tried manfully but for the most part they were defending doggedly as the Euros kept up the relentless pressure.
They added four more tries in the second half and ran out winners 41-7.
Warrigals beat Cloncurry 78-3 in the other game.
